#CAS15: All-New Honda Pilot — The Most USEFUL Three-Row SUV Interior In The Midsize Game?
If there's one thing that in-market consumers want these days, it's three-row sport-utility vehicles. How do we know? Because every automaker worth their salt is scrambling to offer three rows, even if they aren't properly usable.
At the 2015 Chicago Auto Show though, we think we may have come across one of the first USEFUL three-row midsize SUV interiors that will soon be available on the market.

Thanks to Agent 001's persistence, he made sure to spend a bit of time playing around inside the Pilot to show you just how the second and third row works. You know, stuff that actually matters if you want to buy a Pilot.

Rear end looks like it was an afterthought. Not very well styled.

I agree Vette71. The tail lights are also on some BMW CUV and some Suburu CUV. It is a tacky after thought. Not as stylish as Highlander, Murano, Sorento or Grand Cherokee. But I guess best designs have worst 3rd row.

Third row? The Grand Cherokee is the most award winning SUV and never had 3rd row. In fact I don't even think any Jeep has 3rd row and already selling better than most CUVs offering 3rd row. Obviously 3rd row isn't the first thing people look for when CUV shopping. Looking at the picture wtih the hatch open reminds me too much of a minivan without sliding doors. I hate minivans.

But isn't it clear that the Pilot's main competition is definitely NOT crossovers (that's for the RDX to deal with). The competition is minivans and big SUVs like the Chevy Traverse. This is a family car. I wonder if their biggest competition isn't from the Honda Odyssey, honestly.

Grand Cherokee, has anyone fact-checked the award claim? It's based on the longevity of the "Grand Cherokee" name, in use since 1992. The "Wrangler" (1986) should have even more awards..

New York, NY – Aug.20, 2012 – The National Advertising Division has determined that Chrysler Group LLC provided adequate support for the claim that its Jeep Grand Cherokee was the “most awarded” sports utility vehicle over the lifetime of the brand. However, NAD cautioned that the claim should not be tied to a specific model year.
NAD is an investigative unit of the advertising industry’s system of self-regulation and administered by the Council of Better Business Bureaus.
Jaguar Land Rover North America LLC challenged before NAD Chrysler’s advertising claims that Jeep Grand Cherokee is the “most awarded” SUV ever, and that Jeep
“invented the premium SUV” segment.
Key to NAD’s determination was a consideration of the honors and recognition received by Chrysler for the Jeep Grand Cherokee. NAD was persuaded that Chrysler provided a reasonable basis for the claim based on the list of awards that its Jeep Grand Cherokee received over the life of the brand. However, NAD found that the “most awarded” claim was unsupported to the extent it was tied to a model year. NAD therefore recommended that the advertiser revise its advertising by making clear that its “most awarded” claims relate to the Jeep Grand Cherokee name plate over its lifetime.
NAD noted that Chrysler has voluntarily and permanently discontinued the claim that it “invented the premium SUV” segment, an action NAD deemed necessary and appropriate.
Chrysler, in its advertiser’s statement, said the company appreciated “NAD’s careful review of this matter and the opportunity to participate in the self-regulatory process.”

The back hatch looks like it might have a split tailgate, which would have been exciting and very upmarket, but sadly it doesn't.
