Honda Abandons 2017 Sales Targets To Focus On Quality Issues
Honda Motor Co. said it has scrapped its target of selling 6 million vehicles annually by 2017 because the pressure to reach the objective contributed to the quality lapses that led to record recalls last year.

The carmaker also won’t set a global sales target in its next midterm plan, the Tokyo-based company’s CEO Takanobu Ito said today.

Interesting. I would have thought that Honda would have found a way to focus on quality while still emphasizing sales growth.

I thought Honda was the real "deal"? At least that's what someone told me after hating on the Traverse comments.

Don't know about that any more. I have a co-worker who's 2014 Civic won't start if it is below 40 degrees. It has been in and out of the shop 3 to 4 times so far with no luck in tracking down the issue.

Last time they found the ECO was never grounded on the assembly line.
