As boring as the Acura is--if I were buying--it would be my choice. Life is too short to put up with Audi "reliabilty" and "durability" in a purchase. The TLX is an Accord and will be Accord reliable. Infiniti is just laughable.

Holy sh*t. Did someone hijack your keyboard, Darringer?

Seriously, I was actually surprised at how much I liked the TLX. After so many disappointments from Acura, even as an Acura loyalist, I wasn't expecting much. But I found both the 2.4 and 3.5 to be equally enjoyable and definitely comparable to the 428i and C300 (though the Germans felt a bit more solid). It didn't handle or steer quite as well as the IS350 F-Sport, but the engines/transmissions felt more playful. Without question, it was better than the Q50.

The perfect summarization of the TLX's character and purpose was stated in the article, "The Acura is more comfortable and easier to drive year-round, making it a more rounded choice. If you want a bit of everything with minimal compromises, we recommend the TLX" It's a car that needs to compete with everything in the segment and that includes the Lexus ES. Now, let's hope Acura brings in a Type-S to the ballgame in the next couple of years.

The TLX is a "nice" looking car but 1000% forgettable. The choice was between a pointless and ill-engineered Infiniti (horrible steering), a reliability nightmare of an Audi, or a blander version of the Honda Accord.

Of the three the TLX is the best but it's still a C+ level car.

Both cars are as dull as dishwater. I just had a Q50 for a few days as a loaner. It is a non-event car. Interior is blah, driving/feel is nothing special, more like a RWD Altima. Doesn't look like anything either. I would need to drive a full spec Q50s to see if there is something there. The TSX is better looking when optioned right, but like everyone is saying, it is nothing but a Fancy Accord. Both are "nice" cars for someone who hasn't a real luxury car before. This type of person will like them, but if you've driven/owned MB/BMW before, these cars are nothing.
