Mercedes-Benz Recalls 147,000 E Class Vehicles For Fire Risk
Last year, Mercedes was deemed to have the lowest recall rate in the US, but 2015 hasn’t started so well for the German marque. The Silver Star is recalling more than 147,000 sedans and station wagons – the majority being E350 sedans from 2013-2015 – in order to fix a problem with an engine compartment seal. Apparently, the rubber seal could fall onto the exhaust system and spark an underhood fire. Other cars affected includes CLS-Class models, all of which are four-doors, wagons, hybrids and AMG variants, but not coupes or convertibles.

Kudos to Benz for catching it and taking appropriate measures instead of caring about their "Lowest # of Recalls" Title.

They still have the lowest by a significant margin, but I expect Benz to take their slogan seriously and hold steady to "The Best or Nothing".
