New Rolls Royce SUV To Be Named The Cullinan

The Rolls-Royce SUV is getting closer and closer to the production line and according to a recent report, the model in question will be called the Cullinan.

White its main competitor, the Bentley SUV, will be called the Bentayga, Rolls-Royce will be selling its 4×4 under the Cullinan name. The announcement hasn’t been made official at this time but it was announced by Autocar. According to our source, the model is named after a diamond which was discovered in South Africa in 1905 and it has been mounted on the Queen’s scepter as part of the Crown Jewels. Now that is what we call “high expectancy” from a new model.

If they go with that name, they shouldn´t market it in latinamerica....

BTW, although the article talks a lot about the Rolls Royce SUV, all the pictures are of a Bentley. They have completely different styling.

Isn't that the name of a water softner company? "Hey Culligan Man!"

I once knew a guy named Dan Cullinan. He was kind of a jerk, so I will not buy one of these.

Wasn't the guy who shot Gianni Versace in Miami 15 years ago named Andrew Cullinan?

If so, this is a terrible name for a Rolls Royce

Cullinan and Bentayga. Freaking fantastic names, if I must say. I also submit for consideration: Garbango, Baboonza, Peckerton, and Terraclit.

I mean, as much as I don't like garbage like "CT6" and "RS5QS5R" or whatever the REALLY fast version of the Audi CUV is, if you're going for a name at least make it sound attractive. And no, Porsche, Panamera is where I get my you-pick-2 soup and salad combo.

Mustang, Firebird, Grand Prix, Stingray, Viper, Hellcat, etc. American sports cars have cool names but the rest out there, and especially these Euro ultra luxury folks, need help badly.
