Yea, looks like the X1 is losing the battle to the GLA , while 3 series is now neck and neck with the C Class Sedan, will be interesting to see what happens when all new C Coupe is introduced.

5 series managed to stay flat, 7 series now a spec in the S Class market

First, let me say I LOVE BMW's. The "E30" in my name stands for the 1986 to 1992 3-series.

I was deeply saddened this morning when I was watching the "Good Day NY" show on Fox5 NYC today and they had this segment where some PR flack from BMW, brought an i3 to the street outside the Fox5 studios on E66th St for a self-park demonstration.

The hosts Greg Kelley and Rosanna Scotto got in the i3 and tried to activate the "self-park" feature, while coached by the BMW PR flack. The feature DIDN'T work! Instead of the car turning into the parking space, it just backed up.

Then, the BMW employee, got in the driver's seat and again the i3 just backed up, with no parking whatsoever. Yikes! Awkward!

I couldn't find replay video of this thing (as I guess Fox5 wisely choose not to further embarrass a potential advertiser) on line, and the hosts were as polite as can be...but it was really painful to watch.

Did anyone else see this on the morning news? I was squirming on behalf of BMW.

Unfortunately, that's not surprising that it happened. There was a video when the M4 first was getting road tested that showed that its launch control just didn't work. I love BMWs (well, I love any brand that makes a really good car), but these incidents are an embarrassment.

Not as embarrassing as the Volvo collision avoidance system that didnt work.

they were testing the front collision avoidance system, when the car slammed into the back of a parked truck. That was in front of all the media

Or the two S-class Benzes that were showing off their collision avoidance systems by driving towards each other in a foggy hangar in front of all the press... and promptly ran right into each other head on.

I think that cars have some much stuff these days that something is got to give.

And re the 7, BMW should simply quit that niche and rather save whats' left of the 5
