#GIMS: Ford Confirms 600HP GT To Be Priced Around $380,000 In UK

Ford has confirmed that its new 600bhp GT supercar will be priced against the likes of the Lamborghini Aventador.

Speaking at the Geneva Motor Show, where the new carbon fibre twin-turbo GT made its European debut, Ford's performance bosses announced that GT prices would mirror Sant'Agata's hero. The Aventador starts around £260,000.

Production of the supercar will begin in 2016, with production limited to just 250 cars each year. That means this new generation of GT is considerably more expensive and exclusive than the last Ford GT, long a Clarkson favourite.

Love it but that's too expensive. Maybe it will appreciate and become a great collectible down the road.

This is exactly what you call, the American arrogance. No one who is looking to buy a Lamborghini or Ferrari would think "Oh hey, I think Ford GT is a better buy".

I'd much rather have the Acura NSX. Thank you.

Correct. Why would Ford want to copy Japanese arrogance by pricing this the same as what Lexus did with the LFA 6 years ago? At least Ford won't be stupid enough to attempt boosting demand by claiming the cars can only be leased, only to back out of it when they find out there no longer public interest in the LFA. I would take the new Ford GT any day. The LFA is loosing value while the last generation Ford GT continues to appreciate.

And JDM displays his ignorance by staking a claim without knowing how the GT compares to the competition. No one knows at this point until multiple reviews and comparisons are out.

I'd be willing to put significant money down that Ford will have no problem selling each unit very quickly at these volumes.

Terry, learn to spell, it is losing, not loosing. And why LFA now? And LFA is losing value? Now that's something new. The LFA is still keeping the whole 320k ~ 400k price tag everywhere. And unfortunately, the LFA turned out to be something that Jeremy Clarkson really liked.

But this V6 Eco Boost garbage is something that tries to look like an exotic. Do you really think this trash can actually be compared to V12 monsters like Ferrari and Lamborghini? Of course you don't believe it. No one does.

This thing should've been priced at 60,000 dollars and nothing more.

Jeffgall, I'm sorry, any American car is not worth more than 60,000 dollars.

And the new Acura NSX is proudly built in the U.S. entirely, with the Japanese parts. Now this is something that is worth 130,000 dollars, but Ford GT? No.

Are you frickin' kidding me? $380k for the GT? That's simply insane.
