#GIMS: Is Land Rover's REFRESH On The 2016 Range Rover Evoque ENOUGH To Keep Buyers Interested?
Leading up to the 2015 Geneva Motor Show (GIMS) we were sent initial photographs and information about the 2016 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque. Essentially for the past 12 months we've seen versions of it doing developmental testing and we knew that a refresh was due.

One thing we weren't sure about was how far the company would go. I mean, really, the Evoque was done right from the start AND it's selling more than enough units to keep Jaguar Land Rover's top brass happy.

Well, now that we're taking a good, long look at the Evoque, it's pretty clear JLR went as light as possible. Yes, there's new headlights and LED light tubes. Yes, there's new front/rear clips that are mildly updated.

Probably the most important thing about the updated 2016 MY product is the availability of a diesel, Ingenium motor. There's just one little nit: there's NO official word if the U.S. market will get it.

While that may be a sore point for the company's North America operations, it is a significant happening as the Evoque equipped with an Ingenium engine is the off-road automaker's most fuel efficient model, ever. Considering the buyers and market for this vehicle, that's nothing to sneeze at.

Headlights are a wash, old ones were good, new ones are good. From the front i think the intakes are a bit overblown IMHO, interior has no noticible differences but I understand the infotainment system is updated, enough of an update to keep them selling but not enough to entice droves of new customers

Well said.

The infotainment update is a HUGE plus. Was only real sticking point in all of JLR's products.
