#GIMS: Chinese Luxury Brand Qoros To Target EU Ahead Of States - Is There Room To Undercut The Japanese In The Luxury Segment?

Aspiring Chinese car company Qoros has revealed it will arrive in Europe within the next two years.

In a candid interview with Auto Express, Qoros’ new CEO Phil Murtaugh said that the company is currently mapping out its European arrival and hinted that the UK is high on its agenda.

“We are absolutely coming to Europe,” said the straight-talking American, but he caveated the statement with “we are a small company” and “our primary focus has to be on China in the short term”.

Interesting and not-bad looking.

Recall that in the 1980s when the lowly Korean Hyundai Pony was selling, Korean cars meant junk. Before that, in the 1960s, "made in Japan" meant cheap, unreliable, and disposable. The times have changed, and the future will no doubt have more Chinese products in the picture.

Oh Oh Whine, first of all, this car will basically be the real game changer. The Chinese luxury cars will be the future, and will do far better than BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Ferrari and Rolls-Royce.

But to be honest with you? Highly doubt it will do better than the Japanese like Lexus, Acura and Infiniti. They simply can't compete with the Japanese engineering.

Targeting Europe first is DUMB given the cultural bigotry there that hates Japanese cars, excoriates South Korean cars, and will no doubt lynch Chinese cars. Europe is very bigoted against Asian and American products. The USA is infinitely more open to Asian cars. Here Hyundai/Kia are equals whereas in Europe the brand perception is till that they make utter garbage.

That's because we Americans worship price above all else. The Europeans (well, Germans) still have their dignity, that's why they look down on all other carmakers.

Americans gladly trade their jobs for cheap prices, look at the success of Walmart.

That is supposed to be luxury? It looks like a KIA. Its going to be about price and nothing else.
