BMW Says No Truth To Working with Apple On i3 Based Car - But Should They Be?

This week rumors started floating around the internet saying that BMW and Apple are going to develop a new car that will be using the American gadget manufacturer’s software and the Germans’ hardware. That’s right, the industry is changing.

 The initial report came from a trusted German magazine and claimed that BMW and Apple are actually working together towards bringing out a car based on the i3 that would have next-level software on-board from Cupertino. This would then be sold under the logo of the aforementioned US-based company and, in turn, be a rival for the Google car.

The modern car has more lines of code than a jet fighter. Obviously the car will not be based on Apple software.

If this were to be in the works, the most it would have is some enhanced Apple device connectivity and perhaps some Apple UI in the dash.

That's not an "Apple Car". That's a BMW with some Apple-inspired buttons and screens.

FWIW, BMW has denied they're working on a car with Apple. Apple has denied they're working on an Apple car. But don't let that stop the discussion.
