Yesterday marked a significant day in Apple history. That's because while the company announced the Apple Watch way back in September 2014, yesterday was the day when it was detailed, pricing was revealed and some folks even had the chance to play with it.
Considering it's an all-new product for the company that's reinvented computing, telephones and the tablet, consumers and investors alike are abuzz if it can reinvent the watch.
Leading up to the event a story was written and Apple CEO, Tim Cook, noted that the all-new Apple Watch would be capable of displacing the traditional car key. While no specific example was cited yesterday, we're assuming it would be thanks to an automaker-created application.
First to the game will be BMW with its i Remote application currently available for iPhones and Android devices. Conceived for the i3 and i8, it provides users with some status information on your ride: vehicle range, estimated charge time remaining, location of nearby charging stations, if the doors are locked, window, door and trunk position. In addition, users can control the vehicle to do the following: adjust climate control to cool and/or preheat the vehicle prior to entry, lock the doors, flash the lights, honk the horn and locate the car for you if you're lost.
This is all good and well, but
