RENDERED SPECULATION: If The Next-Gen Volkswagen CC Looks Like THIS, Would YOU Think It's A STUD or DUD?
The beautiful thing about the Internet is that it has essentially democratized people's opinions. In a world that used to stifle thoughts, this is refreshing. Obviously, this has helped in some specific cases — e.g., Arab Spring.

Being that we're in the automotive sector, I believe it has helped in a multitude of ways. Not only are spy photos snapped MUCH easier these days, it also provides an opportunity for design students and other parties interested in automotive design to showcase their talents.

One of those talents is X-Tomi, who is constantly churning out renderings. Some are done for pure fun, some are quite realistic.

Their latest features what's being dubbed the next-gen Volkswagen CC. Essentially, what they did is take the Sport Coupe Concept GTE unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show and applied a more productionalized look to it.

That said, scope out the other Volkswagen CC render on X-Tomi's website and let us know what you think: IF VW's next-gen CC looks like THIS, would YOU consider it a STUD or a DUD?

Unless it's Avalon sized (larger), priced the same (less), and arrives with much better attention to quality/reliability/durability (lease, don't buy), the CC will AGAIN be a marginal performer.

While I will admit the CC wasn't exactly the best car from a driving dynamics perspective, I loved its styling and its interior was quite good.

VW is like Volvo — it will never produce the best cars with amazing driving dynamics, but that's not in their wheelhouse and it never will be. It doesn't have to be that automaker and I am fine with that.

Reliability I can't speak to but I wouldn't expect the world of it — it is a VW, after all.

VW's "wheelhouse" is that it's hellbent to (1) get its a$$ kicked out of the American market and (2) to be the Old GM implosion of Europe.

I think it looks noticeably good, with my only gripe being that front end that smells a little too econobox for me. If the price tags is reasonably modest, then this car could be a styling home-run, but if it moves towards the premium car segment, then maybe not so much.

Over-all, for a speculative rendering, I respectfully tip my hat and say nicely done.

As always the key is how close can the final product stay true to the concept? The closer it is the better it will be. The concept gives good promise and it looks a bit more spacious this time around.

The profile looks stunning! I like it very much, and i think it's easily the best design in the whole VW lineup.I'm not so sure about the front end though. Overall a great design.

Even though I still see a low-profile Crosstour or a VW version of the A7, this is still a sharp looking sedan. I've liked the CC ever since VW did a facelift on it. If they offered the 4Motion across the line and not just on the almost-$50k-executive trim, then I would consider it. For me, this design with an R-Line 4Motion package would be perfect. Also, if they make the interior as nice or better than the new Golf, then it would easily go on my shopping list.

A V6 TDI, DSG, and all wheel drive would make this a freaking awesome car!
