Honda S2000 Replacement Not Due Until 2009, NSX Delayed

the NSX is a supercar like the lotus elise is a supercar. Both are brilliant but never did much damage to the status quo. In effect, they are complete and utter failures. In socal we have so many beater $20k nsx's its disgraceful.

S2000 is more like competing with Elise ,
hardcore roadsters dosent need cosmetic surgery so often . it is the handling tht sells .

The Acura NSX is a Japanese Supercar. IMO it wasn't designed to compete against the Ferrari, Bugatti, the big bad BULL from Italy or German's own Porsche. There are many reasons why. The HP difference is the main factor. Sure it was a good performance car. Sure it received and still receives head-turning looks. It just doesn't have the prestige like the Europeans. I'm surprised after over 10 years of production people still long for the NSX. Primarily for it's looks. The interior IMO is rubbish. It doesn't live up to the supercar status it has been given by many.

The S2K should get a redesign soon eventhough it has really contemporary looks esp. the interior. Waiting till 2009 for a redesign will give other companies opportunity to leap years ahead.

I hope you're joking. The Crossfire is the biggest joke in the world of roadsters. It looks the part, for sure, like the last-gen TT did. But apparently it drives like a Chevrolet Prizim.

I forgot to say the S2000 is better. It is. By a LOT.

S4Cabriofox: some people like crossfire. I guess it's personal tastes plus loyalty to Chrysler as well as faith in the Mercedes influence. However, Mercedes only let Chrysler use the base of an SLK but did not assist in any design or engineering. Perhaps that's why domestic designers always come short in engineering/design. If Merc did help them out.. Wait Merc wouldn't help them design a car. Why make Chrysler better than the house brand, the main brand, Mercedes-Benz.

The S2K is way better than the Crossfire. It's in a different league. The S2K is a true sports roadster with good performance. The crossfire has an awkward look to it that may give impression to consumers that it may have performance but i've heard otherwise.

As for the last gen TT. To many it was leap years ahead in design. However, the shape and styling didn't come to par in my appeal for cars. The new one looks great though. Much improvement and much needed. But the 2.0T TT will not be as sporty as the S2K because of the HP difference. The interior is nice though.

Actually a friend of mine has a beater NSX. It's only got 65,000K on it for a 97' i believe. Actually it's not a beater but it's his daily driver. His weekend driver/summer car is a SL55. He also has a TL-Aspec for long road trips. Not bad of a lineup.

I believe the NSX has 290 HP and it's pretty rare to see a supercar go 0-60 in 3seconds. The Pagani Zonda is 3.7 i believe and it's freaking fast!

Huu76: Oh for sure it is more than enough to keep up with the rest. Especially for practical use. If a Honda Civic is practical for a daily commute then a NSX is just spoiling yourself =P.

thanks agent 63 and s4cabrio. i drove the srt6 and i liked it, but i havnt got to drive this yet. Didnt the crossfire borrow the technology in the supercharger to make it more fuel efficient from MB? anyway im gonna drive one myself soon as i can find one. 3 dealers didnt have one in stock. not one. thats weird.

and ps: the 300c is the e-class platform and 80% german enginered. MB threw them a bone i guess.

the srt6 uses the old 32 amg engine, surely?
