VIDEO: Consumer Reports Dishes Out Its FIRST Impressions On The All-New 2015 Ford Edge
While I know some of you don't value Consumer Reports and its opinion on the latest and greatest automobiles, I actually do. There's good reason for this, Spies.

Consumer Reports speaks to the needs of the masses. A lot of enthusiasts seem to completely miss out on what normal people need and desire in their automotive purchase.

No, a BMW M3 will NOT solve everyone's problems.

As pointed out in the clip below, with all the rage being luxury compact sport-utility vehicles and full-sized SUVs, it seems that it's easy to miss out on the likes of a mid size SUV like the all-new Ford Edge. And that's why we're here, to shed light on it.

According to Consumer Reports, this all-new generation product is improved over the last-gen Edge as it now rides on the latest generation Fusion's chassis. Considering the Fusion's chassis is pretty damn brilliant, it's no surprise that the Edge fairs out quite well in this first impression.

That said, scope out what Consumer Reports has to say about the 2015 Edge.

A long overdue clean-sheet redesign gives the Ford Edge newfound refinement, greatly improving ride comfort, cabin finish, and interior quietness. Yet the Edge also sticks to its previous formula, trading on style and power.

I liked how they cross compared the new Edge to an electric blender. THAT is the brilliance of Consumer Reports!

As handsome as the Edge is, seeing it now just feels like I've seen it tons already over the past few years. It's handsome, but maybe a bit too conservative. The front resembles the Santa Fe and the rear resembles the MKC.

I really like the design of the Murano. The front-end might be a bit too busy, but, overall, it's just more appealing. And the 2nd row folds flat, unlike the new Edge. The durability of most of the interior fitments is a concern.

The Morono is ugly. Duly noted is your lack of taste.

Are you serious about liking the new Murano? I thought it was appalling when I saw it debut at the auto show last year, and I've recently seen some in person, and it's even worse in person. The prior Murano was sleek and elegant, and for some reason Nissan decided to hire the Pontiac Aztek designer to create the new Murano. And it looks like this same designer is responsible for the upcoming overstylized Maxima. Let's hope they don't change the Altima or Pathfinder designs anytime soon.
