RENDERED SPECULATION: IF The Audi Q6 Is Styled THIS Aggressive, Would It Have YOUR Interest?

RENDERED SPECULATION: IF The Audi Q6 Is Styled THIS Aggressive, Would It Have YOUR Interest?
Recently, Audi AG announced a product offensive that is far more aggressive than what I believe most were expecting. Essentially there will be an onslaught of all-new luxury sport-utility vehicles coming from the German automaker.

While a lot of people are jazzed about the Q1 and Q2, we're more intrigued by the Q6 and Q8.

Personally though, I think we're most interested by the Q6. That's because this will be the more innovative of the lot. Not only will it feature a technological tour de force with its powertrain options, it also is likely to be the most dramatically styled of the latest Audi product lineup.

What's bolstering my speculation is that this is going to be an SUV that competes with the likes of the BMW X6 and all-new Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe. Not only will it have to be daring, it will have to be sharp. And, if you recall, we saw what Audi was capable of when it launched the A7 years ago.

We know Audi can be controversial and striking as it's shown us what the four rings is capable of when it puts itself to the test. Essentially, we're thinking this will be its big shot.

This has gotten the rendering community started and one of the first renderings I believe is realistic has been attached as our cover image. For MORE renders of upcoming SUVs, click "Read Article" below!

From an overly prominent grill to an even MORE overly prominent grill! I've seen alleged spy shots of the 2017 Q5 redesign (to appear in showrooms at the end of 2016), and its interior is chock full of trapezoids. I'm not caring for it, or the new Audi styling language, in the least.

I love the current Q5's look, though, inside and out. I'm a fan of more classic, timeless designs, rather than the latest trendy thing that comes and goes (e.g., 2006 Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder instead of the 2015 Aventador Roadster).

It's the Audi RX. Lexus would be proud.

Audi's are well built and have beautiful interiors. However the new exterior design direction is looking less elegant, more Germanic and rigid. I see a real opening here for Mercedes with its sophisticated curves and smoother more elegant design direction to take share back
from Audi and BMW. Audi designs are starting to look brittle to me and BMW uninspiring (all but electric vehicles) . Maybe its just me...maybe its not.

Yes, I guess one could say the potato is classic and timeless design. After all, they've been around since the second millennium when humans began farming.

This is not a bad start, but I would like to see an overall design.

From my opinion, the problem is people aren't as thrilled with the face of Audi because so many other makers are doing it now such as: Mistubishi, Ford (Edge), Hyundai (Sante Fe), Lexus, Infinti, Toyota (Tundra). Plus a lot of other cars are using it too such as the Chevy Sonic. The more designsi taking up Audi's mix, the less groundbreaking and head turning their signature profile is.

Plus a lot of manufacturers are using Audi's greenhouses from the A6/A7 such as the Altima, Avalon, Sentra, Infinti M, 2009 LaCross, Genesis, Fusison, Chrysler 200. Why want Audi just start a new design from scratch? All their designs are all used up on other cars in some way shape or form.

Audi has indicated the Q6 will break from its current design language and show that the brand is clearly moving in a new direction that is more aggressive, sculpted and differentiated.

This is a very smart strategic move as a common complaint among current Audi owners is that the exterior design is too bland and all the cars look the same. Audi has addressed this issue and the results are going to be fantastic.

Everything else about Audi is top-notch. The interiors have long been considered some of the best in the business, the technology is on par or better than BMW and Mercedes, the performance can be scintillating as we have seen with the RS and R8 models and the brand image is one of youthful chic.

The global sales results speak for themselves and Audi's $29 billion investment over the next three years in new models, manufacturing capabilities and research and development will ensure the brand continues to be the leader of the luxury segment.

That Q6 rendering is not handsome to me, but that next gen X5, woot woot! Interesting to see a picture of the Tesla Model X that looks quite a bit different than what they have shown before and is missing the gullwing/falcon doors... Not sure if we are to believe they changed their design and the doors, seems just plain wrong... The MINI Countryman looks nice!
