SPIED: ALL-NEW Pics Of The Next-Gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class Bring It Into FOCUS As It Undresses
The current-gen Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been moving quite a few units from showroom floors. It's a widely loved and accepted product at this point. While the latest refresh has taken away the E's iconic quad headlight setup, it doesn't appear to be bothering consumers. Sales remain strong.

So, it appears this has given the three-pointed star to take this action a bit further with the all-new, upcoming E-Class. We've been keeping an eye on the developmental cars that have been getting snapped across the globe and until now the pictures have been hit or miss. These shots really help us get a proper look at the all-new design for the FIRST time.

Now some of the camouflage has been removed and we're getting a glimpse at the all-new front grille. From what I can tell from the detail shots this vehicle will echo what we've seen in the all-new S-Class and all-new C-Class. Gone will be that daring stance the E's of yore used to provide the Mercedes lineup.

When you see this from its front 3/4, it looks like a slightly smaller S if you ask me. I am not sure if that's a good thing at the moment.

One thing you should definitely do is check out the FULL collection of spy shots from abroad. In one image you see the all-new E parked next to a current-gen E and it's pretty clear to me that this all-new E will grow in size just a bit. That's not a bad thing at all given the C has moved slightly upmarket and the E could certainly use a bit more space in its back seats.

The C has always has a mini-S look to it, front and back, and the new C plays that up to a "T". The E always had a bit of its own distinction, especially differentiated headlights and taillights.
Now, just looking at what we can see here, the E's distinction seems to have been diluted quite a bit in the roofline, which resembles the C and S now. We can only hope that it has its own distinct headlight and taillights to separate itself from the family. It does appear that the taillights are a bit different, but it's hard to tell.

@cidflekken - I agree, the E has always stood out whereas the C mimics the S exterior and this doesn't seems to be the case with what the upcoming E will be. That's too bad actually. But that's just my opinion.

hmmmmm, will be interesting to see just how the next gen E Class Coupe slides in between the C and S coupes

I feel like with the S Coupe aimed firmly at Bentley and the C coupe firmly at the 4 series/A5 the E Coupe may now align more with the 6 series and could see a significant size/features upgrade

Jeez you can really tell it's just a larger c-class. 2006-2010 or so for BMW was a year that the 3, 5, and 7 all had a very distinct styling. Now days all three main players (merc, BMW, Audi) are making just about the same car that comes in 3 different sizes. Not sure if it's laziness or playing it safe.
