Ford Updates The Ranger For Rest Of The World - Is It Time To Bring It To The US?

The 2016 Ford Ranger has been officially unveiled by the car manufacturer as it will be offered for sale from the third quarter of this year.

The 2016 Ford Ranger is nothing more than a simple facelift adopted by the model. This is bringing a new design, which will be helping it stand out from a crowd, along with the lane keeping aid, lane keeping alert, adaptive cruise control, front and rear park assist, hill descent control, hill launch assist, emergency brake assistance, adaptive load control, forward alert, the 8-inch touch screen display for the Ford SYNC 2 infotainment system and several other tweaks. The updated pickup truck is also coming with a revised suspension system, with better handling, more precise steering and a towing capacity of 3,500 kg (7,716 lbs).

Ford is worried that it would eat into F-150 sales. A lot of businesses might opt for a smaller pickup. Mainstream consumers might opt for this over the F-150 in certain instances as well due to the lower price. People don't really cross-shop pickups with other types of vehicles. They want a pickup and will choose the one that suits them. Introducing a smaller truck in America would hurt the high-margins earned by the F-150.

I thought the reason Ford stopped offering the Ranger in North America in the first place was the dwindling market for a small pickup. Unless that's changed there's no sense in them selling it here. It could be time though so it could go head to head Chevy's new Colorado.

They stopped offering it because its bones were 20 years old

No one is going to bring up the Duragno's front end huh? If it was a Hyundai that's what would have been said.
