Priced At Only $210,000 McLaren 570S Will Be First Entry Level Model

The McLaren 570S Coupé will be the first car launched as part of the firm's new Sports Series range, it has been confirmed.

Like the 650S, the new two-seater takes its name from its power output. The twin-turbocharged 3.8-litre ?V8 engine produces 570PS, or 562bhp.

The 570S will take after other models in the McLaren range in that it features a mid-engined layout and is based around a carbonfibre tub. It is expected to be the first of three models in the new entry-level Sports Series, with a convertible Spider and a more spacious GT model set to join the line-up later. A high-performance 'Long Tail' version is also likely.

I positively adore the McLaren 12C Spider. Today's melty, swishy, swoopy designs leave me completely uninterested. Ferrari's doing their version of "Flame Surface." Lambo is enamored with over-the-top sharp edges and trapezoids. Oh well.

210K for "entry level"? Kind of a joke. McLaren is in a pickle. They cant make the 570 with equal performance to the 650 -670. The top of the line Porsche GT3 and GT3rs are less than that and have better track performance than the 650. AMG coupe will be 70K less, and a top of the line Audi R8 will start cheaper.. Mclaren needs to pull a rabbit out at this point

I don't think it's that bad at all but you are right the separation between this and the 650s is fairly slim and as it has the same engine I am sure it would be easy to tune it to have the power of the bigger sibling. Styling will be the key if anything.

Current 911 Turbo S loaded for $195,000 does 0-60 in 2.5 seconds, and is built to be a daily driver, with reliability the best among all super cars. Will be interesting to see how the $200,000 shoot-out ends up: California T vs. 570S vs. 911 Turbo S vs. Huracan.
