Volkswagen Ready To Roll On Tiguan Successor By The End Of The Year
Volkswagen’s compact crossover is now getting ready to receive a successor as this should be introduced by the end of 2015 or even next year. According to a recent report, which was published by Automotive News Europe, the model in question will be keeping its familiar proportions but it will increased by 2.2 inch, in its length, compared to the current version. The vehicle will also get a shorter front overhang, wraparound taillights and rounded wheel arches. A long wheelbase version standing at 184.6 inches long is also in the books and this will be about 7.9 inches longer than the standard model, being planned for the U.S. in 2017.

Put a diesel in it (for the US) and I'll be right back into a Tiguan. I loved the one I had, but really wanted a TDI.

Can it please have (1) a non-stupid name, (2) correct pricing, (3) a "Hyundai" warranty, and (4) show that VW cares about quality/reliability/durability?

not a bad rendering there for the first 60% or so. Well do you want VW to dumb it down in the way that it has with the Jetta or Passat or somehow sell the legit European version at nearly cheap US prices? If VW can do the second it will be better of but it's hard to have all the nice features at a basic price.

VW needs to design for the US market like Toyota does. Toyota designs for here rather than dumbing down. VW dumbs down their designs and their products come off at Third World cheap as a result. They also have significant reliability problems that need to be addressed. The Tiguan is MORE expensive than the RAV4/CRV/Escape when comparably equipped. It is SMALLER inside. It truly is a class-trailing design.

Toyota, Honda, Kia, Hyundai, and Ford do high quality appropriately priced vehicles, so why can't VW?

You get downvoted for actually commenting how VW should get better? Man this blog is so biased. You have to like a German or a Japanses brand in order to get voted positive. And I actually like VW and Audi. I just wish VW moved to more eye catching designs.

@jtz7 I get down voted because I'm blunt and dead honest.

So am I. For example: 2008 Hyundai Elantra and Dodge Dart hint greenhouses. Yet because the Elantra came out first they'll play dumb like the Dart's greenhouse is orignal. If the Hyundai came out after the Dart it could be the copycat.

Just a guess MDarringer but I'd say you get down voted because of something else :-)

He gets down voted for like Hyundai/Kia and this blog only does up votes if you like German and Japanese cars. That's why. I tell the truth though and put all designs to the kitchen table. I'm going to show you how good I am: Mazda Tribute and 2007 Honda Ridgeline hint headlights. Taht's how good I am with car designs. Or 2009 Chevy Malibu and 2009 Mercdes C class hint headlights.

Or even this: 2000 Nissan Altima and 2010 Ford Taurus hint frontends.

Or this: 2009 Mazda 6 and 2011 Acrua ZDX hint sideprofiles (greenhouses). If the Acura badge had a Hyundai badge then the ZDX would be considered copying. Yet because it doesn't have a Hyundai logo, it's orginal. Go ahead look it up if you don't believe me.

VW Tiguan and 2005 Tucson hing side profiles. If the Hyundai came out aftewards than the Korean car would be the copycat.
