What's The MOST UNDERRATED Green Car On The Market?
One thing we've learned over the years is that not all "green" cars are created equal. Some are absolutely brilliant. Some are not.

One example of a brilliant green auto may be the Ford Fusion Energi (plug-in hybrid). It features nice styling, it can be had for an agreeable price and it has plenty of utility. Nothing wrong with any of the above.

Now an example of a less-than-stellar green car would be the Chevrolet Malibu Hybrid from two generations ago. While it looked great and actually had some pep to it, the problem is the vehicle didn't really achieve great mpg. I recall getting something in the low 20s. Considering that's the point of a green vehicle, that's not a good look.

That said, we wanted to open the discussion up to the tastemakers right here on AutoSpies to figure it out: WHICH green car is the MOST UNDERRATED?

Discuss!

Define green.

If green is, taxing the electrical grid which is powered by coal fire or some gasification/combined cycle variant, or a nuclear reactor for which the waste has to be buried in containment, I'd say ANY 4cyl car with an internal combustion engine could be classified as an underrated green car.

Do I need saying the obvious? :)

The new Malibu Hybrid apparently is getting the new Volt's drivetrain, but not the battery nor the plug, so it will suck once again. Quite amusingly it is supposed to get a better mileage than the new Volt when driving on gas (45mpg combined on the Malibu, 41 on the Volt).

Anyway hybrids are so last decade, the "green car on the market" needs to have a serious el. motor, a serious battery, and a plug.

A lot to choose, from under 20k to Supercars. Most are underrated now that fuel prices have dropped and ROI can not be justified with typical usage, though much may be made up with discounting this year to clear the lots.
