#NYIAS: How Do YOU Like Me NOW? Audi Ditches The Blue And Shows Its All-New Q7 In Steel Gray
One thing we love pointing out about all-new cars is how they look in different colors. Although it seems like something trivial, it actually is an incredibly important component of public perception. A lot of the time a vehicle's design may be enhanced or quite off-putting due to an automaker's choice in color.
I think we may have another example of that.
New York Auto Show
At the 2015 Detroit Auto Show (NAIAS) Audi chose to debut its all-new Q7 sport-utility vehicle in a bright blue color. While attention grabbing, to me it didn't seem to accent the right elements of its design. Now at the 2015 New York Auto Show (NYIAS), it appears Audi wised up and brought a steel gray example out from hiding.
Paired up with a set of simple, turbine-inspired wheels, we want to know what YOU think:
does the all-new Audi Q7 look better in this color over the original bright blue?
Let us know in the comments below!

Not feeling it.
Plus wasn't the previous somehow nicer?

Looks great. Doesn't look like a station wagon as much as the blue one did two months ago.

So now it's a steel gray station wagon...I can only imagine that a black one looks like a hearse.

I'm not caring for the new design. The sharp edges. The even more overly-prominent grill (now in 3D). The station wagon look. The coffee-table center console. The more BMW-like dash. I thought the previous Q7's exterior design was too truck-like for my tastes, too.
I am, however, very much into the 2015 Q5's look. I love it inside and out. It'll be gone in late 2016 as the new Q5 appears, following in the current Q7's design footsteps.

I think the steel gray color makes a huge difference and makes the Q7 look a lot better. The interior is still top-notch.

Nope. Change of color does nothing for this bloated wagon.

And let me add that the interior just doesn't look warm and luxurious at all. It looks very cold and stark.

Better but maybe it is the wheels shown too... Wheels make almost a bigger difference to me than color in some instances... The gray one is showed with better looking wheels imo. Those vents on the dash seem a bit much but then again there is function with them...

It looks much better in grey. By the way, maybe I'm old, but one of my first cars - was my dad's 1982 Audi 5000 Turbo that he gave me. Audi appears to have re-purposed that 1982 interior for their new IP standard. It had "vents" going across the entire dashboard, just like this new Q7. This color does help a lot in making the car look upscale, luxurious. It also helps to desguise the front end's excessive horizontal lines, but unfortunately does not keep the rear end from looking bland, boring and vulgar, without any personality. Pity, I was expecting much more from AUDI.

Looks awful. It is dishwater dull. The interior is stunning though, but the exterior is about as dumpy as it can be.
