Mustang Overwhelms Competition After Outselling Camaro and Challenger Combined In March
Ford knew it was taking some risks by making the newly redesigned 2015 Mustang more mainstream. Gone is the solid rear axle, replaced by an independent rear suspension. A more efficient turbocharged four cylinder is also new, and is considered sacrilegious to many Mustang faithful. Along with traction control, added safety and an improved ride, the 2015 Mustang sports the most dramatic changes made in the car’s half-century history. And yet sales are soaring. Last month they increased by 36.1% compared to the same month last year.

The bottom-of-the-line / base Mustang is an amazing car and it just get better from there.

A sales spike for a New Model is not unusual - and a sales loss for a TO BE REPLACED model is also the same. I suspect that when the new Camaro is first introduced that there will be a similar sales spike for it too.

And the bottom line is NOT one month sales - it is sales over the life of the design.

Mustang sales (albeit a nice car) cannot be trusted given how many of the ponies end up as rentals (think of Chrysler 200, Sonata, or Dodge Minivan)

The new Mustang is a good car and a lot more livable compared to the current Camaro. The new Camaro promises to be potentially a better "drivers car". This especially if it is lighter and has more HP than Mustang. However, I would be surprised if Ford didn't allow a little room to take some more weight out of the Mustang at some point.
Further from what I've seen of Camaro prototypes, the new one has even a smaller greenhouse area then the current one. So while it might be great to drive you won't be able to see out of it!

I wonder haw many new Mustang buyers came thru now that Ford finally did a dozen things fanatic/purists didn't think would be necessary. i.e. IRS, 4-cyl engine,...

Though, I would like the Mustang to be smaller (height, length), it's a really fun car made even better with the newest changes.
