Honda To Drop Awkward Looking Crosstour From The Lineup

The end of the road is near for the Honda Crosstour.

Honda said today that it will stop producing the slow-selling Accord derivative after the 2015 model year, as part of a broader move aimed at boosting truck-production capacity.

The end of Crosstour production will enable Honda’s East Liberty, Ohio, plant to focus on building the CR-V and Acura RDX models, both of which are enjoying brisk sales.

At the same time, Honda will also shift production of the Accord hybrid from Marysville, Ohio, plant to its Sayama plant in Japan.

Too bad. Honda should have put an electric powerplant in it and rebadged it as the "Honda Accord Telsa"

If you see them side by side, the CrossTour and the Tesla (the real one) look very much alike.

And some bloggers thought this was a "hit"; just an UGLY piece of junk that sub-planted the Pontiac Aztec as one of the terrible looking vehicles.

It's like Honda wanted to do a BMW X6 for the masses, but instead of doing it right, they sat on the toilet, pushed hard, and this came out.

MDarringer-While I agree that the Crosstour is fugly, but I wouldn't say that the BMW was done right either. That thing is one hot mess too.

Meanwhile, Europe still gets the practical civic and accord wagons available with diesel. But the crosstour will go away to be replaced by the civic hatchback which just looks like a mini-crosstour which is ok by me.
