Fisker Puts Thunderbolt Prototype Production Plans On Ice After Aston Martin Files Lawsuit

Aston Martin has dropped its lawsuit against Fisker, which was issued after Henrik Fisker revealed his Thunderbolt design prototype.

Aston Martin had said the prototype was an unauthorised copy of Aston’s designs and was "wholly unacceptable". Aston took issue with several elements of the Thunderbolt’s styling, including its logo.

However, a joint statement has confirmed that the two sides have come to an agreement. The statement confirms that "Henrik Fisker has decided that 'Project Thunderbolt' will not be produced" and as a result "Aston Martin will withdraw the lawsuit".

Most people that dry to draw Astons from memory won't be able to get as close as Fisker got with his "re-imagining." I have no idea how this could have been unexpected.

He had a little help. Fisker was design manager for Aston under Ford leadership. Designs to his credit are the Aston Martin DB9, Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Fisker Karma, and BMW Z8. Not a bad resume of designs!
