GM Ignition Switch Death Toll Rises To 84 Victims
General Motors Co.’s ignition switch compensation fund on Monday said it has approved four additional death claims linked to its delayed recall of 2.6 million cars, raising the latest total to 84 deaths.

The fund also said it approved nine new injury claims. Of the 157 injury claims approved, 11 are for serious injuries and 146 are for less severe injuries. All of the new approvals were for less serious injuries.

Deputy GM ignition fund administrator Camille Biros said last week that the fund has made 126 offers to those found eligible; 93 have been accepted and five have been rejected. Seventy-three claims have been paid. If a person or victim’s family accepts an award, the right to sue GM is forfeited.

Enough Already - WE do get that YOU hate GM in every way and you will do anything to show them in the worst possible light.

However - that GM actually paid a claim is not proof that the ignition switch actually caused the death - it is only proof that GM does not want to go to court in the case. THe reporting of the death FAILS to show any other factors in the death that may have contributed - such as excessive speed as one of many.

And of course - it is still a small percentage of the people who die in car accidents due to excessive speed - due to Car magazines and people like you posting for more and more "performance" - when most of this cannot legally be used on public roadways.

And again I say that if YOU were really against the "deaths", you would propose a way to prevent cars from speeding on public roads - and YOU have not.

Quite a number of car manufacturers have had ignition switch problems - I do not see THEM mentioned in the articles either
