BMW Named Most Reputable Company On The Planet - Did You Expect Anything Less?

German automaker BMW tops the list of Reputation Institute’s 2015 RepTrak 100, a global survey of corporate reputations. BMW beat out Google and archrival Daimler, which finished third.

“Continuing a trend, the companies with the strongest reputations are focused on more than just the products or services they sell, with corporate social responsibility – citizenship, governance and workplace – taking on more importance than ever,” says Jamie Bedard, CEO of the institute.

Five other automotive OEMs made the list of the world’s 100 most reputable companies: Volkswagen (14), Toyota (35), Honda (61), Ford (65) and General Motors (96). Tire makers Michelin (19), Bridgestone (28) Pirelli (38) and Goodyear (45) also made the list, as did auto suppliers Bosch (30) and Siemens (62).

BMW finished third in last year’s survey and Daimler was ranked eighth. Nissan and Suzuki were on the 2014 list but didn’t make the cut this year. GM was not on the list last year when it was embroiled in the recall over defective ignition switches.

There's a good book called "Driven: Inside BMW, the Most Admired Car Company in the World".

It explains how BMW has become such a force; why they're sustainably profitable, even during recessions. t also talks about the Bangle Era "Flame Surface" direction, how that flop came to be (Hint: it wasn't Bangle's fault), and how BMW continued to be profitable in spite of it.

It's a worthwhile read for car fans and business fans, regardless if you like BMW (the company), their cars, or not. It shows you how a well-run business can accomplish noteworthy things.

I respect BMW, the company, even though I don't care for the cars they're making today.

This is great to know , in my house all use BMW and no problem, we feel safe , great services at the dealer , and their cars very fast , comfortable and sporties . We feel very happy.

it shows the power of branding. Product isn't the only thing...advertising and brand management are just as important. Perception is reality.

Congrats BMW! I worked for them for a few months in Regensburg Germany and found them to be exceptional employers. I also really like their focus on sustainability and of course the fine automobiles we get to drive from them. Kudos
