RENDERED SPECULATION: IF This Is What The Next-Gen BMW X1 M Sport Looks Like Will You Be Visiting Your Local Dealer?
While I know Agent 001 digs the currently existing BMW X1, I have to say I was less than impressed. It's OK and it gets the job done; however, I just don't see much value in it, overall.

In addition, the thing looks quite suspect. I mean, the droopy headlights, peculiar proportions, etc.

Why not get a Volkswagen Golf Sportwagen and call it a day?

For those of you that require a BMW badge parked in the drive or are in-market for a compact luxury sport-utility vehicle, the X1 is a start. As we've seen BMW starting to put next-gen X1s through developmental testing, folks are starting to get creative and render what it may possibly look like.

The latest render comes to us from abroad and is essentially an X1 equipped with an imagined M Sport kit. Obviously, the artist took some creative license from other M Sport kits the company currently offers on the other models and applied it to their interpretation of the next-gen X1.

So, what do YOU think?

IF the next-gen X1 looks like THIS, will you be plonking down some jingle for one?

Certainly better than the current model. Unfortunately it will be based on a FWD platform with the engine hung out in front of the front wheels which will have a negative impact on its handling and BMW's mantra of being the ultimate driving machine. They need to refocus on this IMHO. If BMW wants the pedestrian market the use one of the brand names they have bought up but don't use BMW. Once they go too far down this road it will be much harder for them to reclaim this space.

Looks cool from the front, almost like an X5 but the back view still reminds me of the old X1 and wagon like proportions... A step in the right direction at least... Maybe this one won't feel cheap like the current X1
