WHAT Is The SPECIAL Sauce Land Rover Uses To Make Their Vehicles So LUSTED After?
You know, sometimes you just have to give credit where it's due. A good example of this is Land Rover.

Not only has the company been producing incredibly capable off-road machines for eons, it also has been one of the most sought after luxury automobiles for quite some time. I know some of you may not believe that, but I offer you a challenge:

Go find a Land Rover Range Rover at a dealer and get back to us.

I think that will be pretty much impossible. That's because there's a massive wait list to acquire an all-new Land Rover Range Rover. The supply and demand has gotten so out of balance that dealers — in some cases — are offering five figures to buy back cars so they can flip them to eager, in-market buyers. That's pretty much unheard of.

And as I noted in a review last year, if you were to ask any young urban professional woman what vehicle would she want more than anything else, her answer would most likely be "a Range Rover."

So, we have to ask: WHAT is the special sauce Land Rover uses to make their vehicles so LUSTED after?

Why can't any other automaker replicate it?

Attractive high repair and fuel costs? I used to be a land rover fan boy in my tweens, heck I got my parents to buy disco new 96 disco for themselves. Now I'm grown and drive a stock civic exl. Rovers are cool but I got a life outside of dealership service department visits.

Masochists love to be abused by the Land Rover salesman. The more they pay, the better orgasm they attain.

1. It is European (British)
2. Extremely expensive to maintain (Meaning, giving tons of money to this awesome British company = Status Symbol)
3. It is....once again, EUROPEAN. This is very important.

They sell you an aire of exclusivity and the idea that you can go horseback riding in the woods of suburbia and park in front of any mall.

I think it is also the idea that you can go places most luxury SUVs cannot even though 99.99% of the people will never drive on anything more challenging than a dirt road. Big luxury SUVs give you that extra feeling of security. It is also a neat idea to do some serious off roading while drinking your martini ensconced in the finest leather and wood while listening to Motzart through that Meridian sound system. Not that I am recommending drinking and driving..just a mind adventure... With some serious injection of money into engineering etc...I believe Range Rover is making serious progress on reliability as well with its latest models, of course time will tell.
