New Kit Adds Spindle Grill To FR-S And Beckons The Question - Should Lexus Consider A Small Sports Car?

There's no shame in admitting you like the Toyota GT 86 or Scion FR-S for the sweet handling. However, it's not as bold to look at as a Ford Mustang or a Camaro. That can all be fixed, thanks to a body kit like no other from Japanese tuning company Aimgain.

You've probably never heard of them before, but these folks know what they are doing, especially when it comes to Toyota. The package they designed is called LF-SPORT, and that fact alone should give you an idea of what to expect from it.

That's right, it marries the affordable coupe's body with the distinctive front end design of a Lexus. More correctly, it gives you the Lexus spindle grille, which after its debut in 2012 on the GS sedan has been fitted to everything.

I just came back from one of those cruises in the Caribbean and it was funny to see the Lexuses we see in the U.S. still labeled as Toyotas in pretty much each of the islands.

The whole concept behind posin', is to make my inexpensive car look like some expensive car, so when others see me in it, the'll think more highly of me, and I'll feel better about myself for having won their approval or envy. Meh.

In reality, your peers, who have similar neediness, will realize you're an imposter. Those who can afford the car you're trying to impersonate will also see you as in imposter. They're driving the real deal. The only people who are impressed are those who know less about cars than you do, and who also place high importance in someone's apparent status.

Learn to love what you are. Be what you are. Be loud and proud. Do that, and you'll grow independent of what others think of you, so you won't seek their approval.

Yep the Toyota Harrier is the same as the Lexus RX in the US. And why would any of this be a surprise? All of our Acuras are either nonexistent outside of the US or are Hondas. Our Acura TSX was the Honda Accord everywhere else. And it's the Honda NSX. Toyota has like a million different models and some are Lexus here but Toyotas elsewhere. But there are Lexuses outside of the States, such as the LS.

Toyota needs to start from scratch. They need a new platform that--as a Toyota Celica--plays in the Mustang's V6 price range, and as a Lexus in a modern-day Porsche 944 product--with separate styling--playing in the Mustang GT/GT350 range.

Lexus needs to be more convincing with its sporting intentions and a competent 2+2 sitting BELOW the RC is the ticket.

Letting Subaru do the engineering for a rear-wheel-drive sports coupe was dumb--because Subaru had no experience.

In the South Bay area of CA I see so many women driving white LX's. "I am driving a Lexus." No. It is a Toyota Land Cruiser with leather interior and a L on the grille. Lexus will probably use the platform of the upcoming BMW/Toyota "sports car."

So are you saying the rest of the Lexus line are Lexus cars or not? Is anyone therefore driving a Lexus?
