BMW Official Says Rumored M7 Will NOT Happen After All
These past few months have been filled with reports that were talking about a true M7 for the next BMW 7-Series lineup but inautonews.com has found out that the car manufacturer has absolutely no plans of putting such a model into production. According to a source within the company, the new generation of the BMW 7-Series will not see the debut of the M7 but that doesn’t mean that a version worthy of taking on the AMG S-Class isn’t around the corner. Chances are that this will not be wearing the M badges on its body and inside but it will be most likely capable of taking on its main competitor.

When they reach the S class level in sales, then the M7 will be a wise commercial decision, for now, is not wise to build a car that wont sale compared to the S class.

Not building an M7 is an epic blunder.

Just as I predicted.

BMW already has a S63 / S65 competitor in the Alpina B7. A M7 would be on a completely different level.

BMW needs an M7 because there is a market for people who want an S Class AMG type vehicle without having to put up with the fat-assed, blubbery, ghetto bling styling Mercedes loves. BMW knows what actual taste is.

It made no sense to create an M7 for BMW. The regular 7-Series sales are a fraction of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. To think that people will buy an even more expensive version of a car that already sells poorly is a flawed assumption.

Mercedes-Benz has long-cornered this market with its AMG S-class and BMW knows this and is therefore not even going to try and play in an area it can't compete.

Then again, being late to the game doesn't mean BMW can't compete. Look what Apple did to the phone industry? Uber for the taxi industry.. etc.
