Look how they've creeped in a lifestyle shot (yuppies in a bar). Ewww. That is Mini not! The Minimillovitch family is spinning around in its grave.

The Mini would make a very good first car. I have heard from many reviews that it drives just like a BMW.

I think the interior is a bit odd IMO.

You're coming late to the party if this is your first Mini look. This rev drives more like a normal car than the 1st generation which had an enthuisast following. That isn't me saying it, since I haven't driven a preproduction model of the 2nd gen car. But Automobile Magazine, Edmunds and mini2.com have driven the new car and have all said the same thing. Nice for the normal driver, but something missing for the enthusiast. Since the advertising has gone downhill with that new 2-cent ad agency and the brochure is showing yuppies in a bar, you can see the bloom is off the rose at Mini. The Mini ad manager is now at VW, making that brand cool. Yes, still a good first car for a person who wants a fun drive. But an enthusiast will probably do better with the Mazda3Speed which costs way less cash and has nearly 100 more horsepower.

At least it gets better gas mileage. I think they inproved on it tenfold. I kind of like it. Are they comming out with a cooper D...as in diesel, becuase that would be a hit.

they put in a six speed which will be nice. and if the mini-drive is like the i-drive, then this would make a great first car...after graduate school...when you have a degree in IT so you can pretend you understand how to work the thing.
