WHO Is Missing Out On The HUGE Luxury SUV Trend MORE? BMW or JEEP?
While vehicles like the Mercedes-Benz GL-Class — soon to be renamed GLS-Class — and the Land Rover Rnage Rover continue to sell like hot cakes, it seems that some automakers are late to the party. One such example is BMW, who was thought to have prepared the much rumored about X7 for deliveries around this time.

Although the X5 has been a successful, high volume product for years now, BMW's plans for a large luxury SUV seem to have gotten pushed back. In an interview, BMW NA's CEO, Ludwig Willisch, notes its at least two years out as it will roll out with the next-generation of light trucks from BMW.

And, making news last week, were comments from Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' (FCA) Sergio Marchionne. According to Bloomberg, he said that every time he sees a Land Rover Range Rover his blood boils because Jeep should be able to produce something like that.

Duh, this is why we've been asking why the Grand Wagoneer hasn't been revived. Well, according to reports, the vehicle is on its way but we will be kept waiting until 2018.

That being said, we're just a wee bit curious: WHO do YOU think is missing out on the HUGE luxury SUV trend more? BMW or Jeep?

BMW's U.S. dealers won't get all of the 15 new products being rolled out globally by 2018.

But that's fine with BMW of North America CEO Ludwig Willisch, who is focused on the hot-selling crossover segment. The X7, a full-size crossover coming in three years, is what the U.S. market needs, he said.

Not that I consider Jeep in the same class as luxury makes, I do feel strongly that Jeep not having a 3 row vehicle is hurting sales that could be kept in the near lux. segment. Those looking for a family vehicle and cannot afford a GL. Kept me away from a Grand Cherokee and into a Q7. Same can be said for the joke of a third row in the X5. I assume it pushes a lot of consumers to the GMC Acadia Denali and even the Tahoe/Yukon.

I don't think Jeep has worry about grounbreaking luxury. The Grand Cherokee is the face of SUVs. What's the point of luxury if your luxury crossover can't do what a Jeep or Land Rover can't do like get out of the toughest ditches or go through the deepest water and still the interior is dry? I'd take that over luxury anyday.

Also to add, you get all that real performance of the way a CUV is supposed to be and you get style that hardly ages and can go for nearly a decade before it needs a redesign. Only SUVs that can do that is Grand Cherokee and Range Rover. After all, the Grand Cherokee didn't become the world's most awarded SUV off of luxury.

Check out a Jeep Overland in white with the tan interior...droolworthy.

Far nicer than the majority of options out there. Unfortunately, Jeep is not synonymous with luxury, but it's definitely one sexy suv.
