What Are We REALLY Looking At With The 3.0 CSL Hommage? Is This The Next-Gen 6-Series?
In the past week, BMW released an all-new concept car in form of the 3.0 CSL Hommage. Clearly taking inspiration from the original 3.0 CSL, this all-new vehicle from BMW had an all-new twist to it. The facade was completely different, as were its hind quarters.

In addition, there were new aerodynamic bits that seemed, at least to me, inspired by the design of the all-new i8 halo car.

If you ask me though, that wasn't the most intriguing element though. To me, the all-new take on the facade is what caught my attention. Something tells me I wasn't the only one as there were a mixture of comments all over.

Some loved it, others hated it. Typical remarks about an all-new BMW from the faithful.

One thing we know for sure is that BMW never lets a concept go to waste. Aside from the 328 Hommage, in recent memory I believe all of the company's concepts have delivered something that came to production at some point or another.

And if I were to hazard an educated guess, I'd say that the 3.0 CSL Hommage is showing us the all-new face of the upcoming BMW 6-Series. Given that the 3.0 CS was the vehicle that started the "shark look" and essentially birthed the 6'er, I can't think why this concept would give rise to an all-new 6. While the all-new 7 is locked and loaded, we've seen the next-gen 5-Series undergoing developmental testing, the timing seems about right to start thinking about an all-new, big BMW coupe.

What say you, Spies? Is the 3.0 CSL Hommage a preview of the next-gen 6-Series?

Could the front of this look any more like a comedic face? It's almost 'cute'...and should be the star of the next 'Cars' animated feature.

I'll be kind here and just say that it's... unattractive.

I sure f'ing hope this isn't the new 6er. I absolutely LOVE my 6er, but if this is what the next one looks like, I'd jump ship for MB in a heartbeat.

I love the side view but the front and rear need a total redo! The hofmeister kink is perfect, the BMW badge on the C pillar makes a great return, green house is very good in this age of swept back aerodynamics, would have liked a bit more airiness there and thinner A pillars. Front and back are like from a total different mind, a warped one at that.

Front lippy has many elements of Honda Civic and the back is pure Hyundai coupe..
In otherwords both frotn and rear is horrible..

ot really a hommage as it does not incorporate and elemets from the old CSL.. only common theme is the BMW grille,,
