This has been going on in Tokyo, Japan for decades. There, before you can buy a car, you must prove you have a place to park it.

In similar news (all decades old), a Tokyo multi-millionaire made amongst the most expensive real estate purchases, as measured by dollars per square foot, when he needed to widen his driveway by 6" to park a new Rolls Royce he intended to purchase. It cost him several million dollars!

Anyone remember "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" with Robin Leech? In one of his shows, he said (paraphrased by me) "I'm stranding in Tokyo, the heart of Japan. Here, real estate is so expensive, it's worth more than the space this stack of hundred dollar bills is covering." (Camera quickly pans down to a stack of hundreds by his feet).

Anytime we think we live in a crazy world at home, take a good look at the insanity abroad. Crazy is everywhere.
