DRIVEN + VIDEO: A New Review Details The Volvo XC90 INSIDE And OUT — Is It On YOUR Short List?

On the auto show circuit we've run into the all-new Volvo XC90 plenty. And, if you've been dialed into AutoSpies.com, by now you may be a bit tired of hearing how we're pretty infatuated with it.

The Swedes got this one right from what we can tell.

From what we've seen though, the initial reviews have come back a bit mixed. While some have said it doesn't performance like a Land Rover Range Rover Sport or BMW X5 off road or on road, respectively, it seems pretty clear that Volvo is happy being itself.

To me, that's a good thing. I am tired of every automaker trying to build a BMW. Just do what you're good at, guys!

While not a fan of it being owned by the Chinese, it will either be this, the new Disco or the new Q7 when I'm ready to trade in my current Q7 in a couple of years.

i just took delivery of an X5 M sport and after seeing this video I saw nothing that would make me change my mind. however, if you only care about utility and not sport, then its looks like its worth a consideration.

I was driving around the NY burbs this weekend and I saw one new XC90 in Westport, CT in front of the Volvo dealership (gorgeous) and I saw a new one in Rye, NY driving around. Its really a beautiful car - nice work Volvo!

Just happenstance, about 20 minutes prior, I was on I-95 by Stratford, CT and I saw a new Audi Q7 with "manufacturer" tags on it. We were all stuck in traffic so I got a long, really good, look at it. The Q7 is not a handsome auto - looks very blocky from the rear and it looks cheap and tiny from the front. The Q7 front end looks very much like a Taurus - the trapezoidal grills must be the same size.

The Volvo XC90 is the hands-down winner versus the new Q7 in my opinion.
