CPS says that 54 percent of pet owners travel with their pet, with one in five admitting that their pet travels in their lap.

In the Flex, my dogs go in the far back with a gate between them and the 2nd seat. If I'm in the Ghibli, they are in the back seat with rolled blankets on the floor between the rear seats and the front seat, but that's been one time when I took them to the vet and my wife had the Flex.

And before anyone gets his Andrew Christians in a knot, I got the opportunity to "trash" a Ghibli for a year. "Trashing" means drive it like its a Camry. Show it no love. It often goes from Bakersfield to Irvine to Palm Springs to Bakersfield once a week. It goes to WinCo. It has car seats in back with messy infant boys.

So far, the Maserati "300" has been wonderful.
