BBC Names New Top Gear Host, But Will It Ever Be The Same Without The Original Dysfunctional Trio?
Television and radio presenter Chris Evans is to become the new host of Britain's globally popular “Top Gear” TV show, replacing Jeremy Clarkson, who was dropped by the BBC in March after he attacked a producer.

Evans has signed a three-year deal to lead the show which is aired in more than 200 countries and watched by 350 million viewers worldwide.

Filming will begin in a few weeks’ time, the BBC said, without Clarkson's co-hosts Richard Hammond and James May.

It will be an unmitigated disaster. It will be virtually impossible for the BBC to match the on-screen chemistry of Clarkson, Hammond, and May and even if they pull that off it will come off as a wannabe effort. I predict the new show will have a token woman and a token something else--for political correctness--and will be an utter mess.

The BBC should have brought Clarkson back. Instead, they handed the franchise off and Clarkson, Hammond, and May will be as popular elsewhere AND they will make much more money.

That chemistry wasn't developed overnight. If they give the new hosts a chance the show may develop into something. The trio plus Andy Wilman will also have to start from scratch as a lot of the show's antics and certainly facilities remain with the BBC.

Disaster in the making indeed.
Evans is a radio DJ for a reason, you may want to listen to what he says but you definitely do not want to see him saying it.

I've not heard Chris Evans radio show. However, I'm guessing he is a good interviewer. It also really falls to who will come along side as co-hosts and how good the chemistry is. Also is the show going with the same general format or is it going to explore new ideas?
