SPIED: The Audi A5 Comes Out From Hiding — Were YOU Expecting MORE?
One vehicle that caught many folks attention over the past five years is the Audi A5. When it first debuted, people gawked at it for what was considered a timeless design and a decent array of powertrain options.

At this stage the powertrain options have dwindled by one, but that hasn't changed some buyer's attitudes about it. Frankly, I still see a bunch of all-new A5s and S5s in my neighborhood.

Its time has run out though. Now it's time for an all-new A5 and S5 to take the reigns and keep the car's success running. The last time I hopped into one I felt like I had just fell into a wormhole that transported me into the mid-2000s.

The latest spy shots show us the vehicle under development for the very first time. And, if I am honest, after taking a thorough look, I have to say it doesn't look very different from what's currently on offer. We're sure it will be differentiated by the all-new, three-dimensional front grille as seen on the all-new Q7. In addition, it will have door-mounted side mirrors and a new headlight design that's edgier a la the all-new A4 and S4.

But if you take a look at the car's side profile, you'll note the window glass looks startingly similar. To me, it looks identical to the current-gen A5. Mind you this isn't a mule. This is the real deal.

That said, I have to ask: As the all-new A5 comes out from hiding, were YOU expecting MORE?

I'm hoping for the best when the stickers come off. The A5 and the A7 are by far Audi's best vehicles stylistically and this looks dumbed down from the current one. It looks a lot like the current one, but less imposing.

Just another in a long, long, long series of essentially look alike Audis.

Why not just make ONE car - and put a whole bunch of different labels on it - at least they could save on production costs that way. At least that is the way they look anyway!
