2017 Buick Verano spied undisguised in Chicago
The second generation 2017 Buick Verano has been spied completely undisguised on the streets of Chicago, courtesy of Twitter user Kevin Putz.

This is the first time that the all-new model has been spotted completely uncamouflaged in the U.S, since it was first unveiled at the 2015 Auto Shanghai in April for China. The Chevrolet Cruze's premium sibling was due for launch in the U.S. this year, but has been pushed to next year according to recent reports.

Like with the Cruze, it's unclear if the U.S spec Verano will look different compared to its Chinese cousin, but the test mule seen here is of a Chinese model.

Brutal, but spot on.

If anything, it's MORE forgettable than the current one. The rear looks like a first-time effort by a Chinese clone company. How can GM produce gorgeous styling for concepts like the Elmiraj and Avenir and yet not one iota makes it to the show room?

We've been asking this question for years. Why GM shows concepts everyone LOVES then builds things like this or the CT6 is beyond us.

It looks like a generic Asian car. Unless Buick is more compelling is other ways, it'll be an "also ran."

Seemed like Buick was making progress and heading in the right direction, then THIS happens.

Hate to say it but I actually liked the current Verano. Never liked the name and like others think GM brands should be using names from their past. Not LeSabre but maybe Skylark, something legacy... This car, it already looks forgettable.. that a really tragic missed opportunity... which is also a GM legacy...
