GM Death Toll Rises To 117 - How Could They Have Been This Wrong To Begin With?
General Motors ignition switch compensation fund, headed by outside attorney Kenneth Feinberg, recently announced that over the past week another three fatality claims have been approved for compensation, raising the toll to 117 cases.

The fund, which has uncapped compensation power and is being headed by outside lawyer Ken Feinberg has also announced the approval of another eight injury claims, with the total number of approved injury cases now standing at 237. Of those, 13 are for serious, life-changing injuries and 216 for less severe ones, which still required hospital or treatment time. The almost year-old review of ignition switch death and injury claims is nearing the end of its task, with only 79 of the total of 4,342 claims submitted – or 1.8 percent – still being reviewed.

We already have a good audit trail of how it went wrong. Senior GM management wanted to sweep it under the rug and stay under the radar. You know, if one or two people die, then sue us. But when dozens of people were injured or killed, and researchers determined the cause was a faulty component, then questions were asked. That's when they discovered that this was a known problem, and upper GM management hadn't done the right thing. There are abundant email audit trails that support these statements, so there is no question of how this could have happened.

The problem with big corporations in this country is that the leaders are usually not held responsible for their wrong doings. Take wall street for example, deceit and fraud was systematic and rampant. Then the punishment is a tiny slap on a wrist and at most a few years of jail time. But for GM to cover up issues that affects safety is borderline murder. In some countries they would be shot.

Apparently one of those countries with repercussions is not Japan or we would have seen a number of Takata executive committing harakiri by now for their contribution to borderline murder.

EVERY YEAR - there are about 10,000 deaths on the us Highways due to excessive speed and yet the Car Magazines continue to advocate More Power and faster cars. It is inherently deceitful to point the finger at GM while - while asking for more and more DEATH TRAPS

When are the Car magazines going to advocate SLOWER cars with limited speeds? Never - because the car magazine do not care at all about the deaths - they simply want to bash GM.
