SPIED On The STREET! Mercedes-Benz's All-New GLC-Class Is Caught On Camera Meandering Around HQ
The all-new Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class is a big deal. Not only is it a significant product because it replaces the now outgoing GLK-Class, which was quite popular, it is also an all-new offering in the highly competitive entry-level luxury sport-utility vehicle class.

Right now this is where a tremendous amount of sales are happening and the market is continuing to grow.

2016 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class

Having seen  the all-new GLC make its debut with a slick design that I do not believe will offend many and an interior that's essentially lifted out of the class-leading C-Class, I am starting to believe the three-pointed star may have a winner in its midst. Hell, it wouldn't be the first product it knocked out of the park in 2014/2015.

But as any AutoSpies fan would know, we're skeptics. We always need more convincing. That's why we're bringing you fresh footage of the all-new GLC as it was caught roaming the streets. This should give you a better impression of how it will look on the road.

That said, check out the clip below.

... shortly after the world premiere of the NEW Mercedes GLC .... new cars in different versions on the road, now uncamouflaged. Sales start probably in the autumn / winter 2015 (Germany).

I believe MB will have a winner on their hands. My sole objections to the external styling are:
(1) The headlights remind me of the overly-busy headlights from a 2-year-old Audi Q5. I didn't like those, either, but Audi cleaned them up nicely in 2014.
(2) The gaping holes on the front lower outside edges.

The profile and rear end are clean and cohesive, with good flow. Nicely done.

In recognizing the popularity of the current Audi Q5, and suspecting that the 2016 model will have sharply creased bodywork like the new Q7, I believe MB will be receiving a lot of customers who used to appreciate Audi's styling language before they went in their new direction.

If this GLC is priced competitively with the Q5, I believe will see their Q5 sales eroded.

Mercedes will command a higher price than the Q5, just as they do with most cars in their respective segments. Therefore, while some might be willing to pay more for the style, many will still see the value with Audi.

jeffgall: I agree with you! I'd also add that if Audi strays too far from their exceptionally popular current (2015) Q5 design, they risk alienating those people who really like it. In that case, those people might be inclined to pay more and get what they like, such as the new MB GLC.

Just as a data point, I don't get excited by many car designs, but the Q5 really got me going. I just love the style, inside and out, as well as what the vehicle offers (in the 3.0 TDI), so I got one. If I couldn't get a 2015, and the 2016's design went in the direction of Audi's new Q7, I would have jumped on the new MB GLC, even though it would cost me more. I want to be passionate about the car the drive. I want to LOVE it, and not just be okay with it. A big part of that passion is in the way it looks, inside and out.

I believe the GLC will be a brisk seller.

Very handsome indeed...understated elegance that is both reminiscent of MB past, coupled with fashion forward design.

It's a pretty nice looking vehicle, but it looks like they are trying to rip of the MDX.

I see a bit of resemblance in the greenhouse profile, which is hard to avoid in an SUV, but otherwise, I see the GLC and Acura MDX as very different vehicles, with the GLC clearly on top.
