Is There Such A Thing As Too Much Power? Veyron Successor Will Pack 1500 HP

VW Group boss Martin Winterkorn has given the first official confirmation that a successor to the Bugatti Veyron will be built - and stated that it will have a hybrid powertrain, as predicted by Autocar in 2014.

Autocar sources suggest that Winterkorn made the comments in a far-reaching interview with German newspaper Bild which will be published on Sunday. In addition, Winterkorn confirmed that the long-awaited VW Group budget brand will finally be launched.

"Next to the petrol model there will be a hybrid version with added performance for the first time," Winterkorn told Bild. It is not clear if his comment suggests there will be separate hybrid and conventionally engined models, although the development costs of two powertrains make it highly unlikely.

Ask the Miata/GT86 faithful and they will act like horsepower is Satan.

I prefer more rather than less.

Can a car have too much horsepower? Yes. The TVR Speed 12 had over 800 horsepower, how much over is not known because the V12 broke their engine dyno LOL. The car was as light as a feather and there simply was no way to get the power safely to the road.

As for the Bugatti, it's a vapor car sold to vapid people with too much money.

Vapor car? Look it up - you obviously have no idea what that means. As for too much power? No! Bring it!
