2015 Mustang Sales Leaving Camaro and Challenger In The Dust

Ford Motor Co.'s Mustang is flexing its power in the race for best-selling muscle car.

Sales of the Dearborn automaker's pony car are up 55 percent in the United States through the first five months of the year, and it's outselling its biggest rival — the Chevrolet Camaro — for the first time since 2009.

Through May, Ford sold 56,571 Mustangs; Chevy sold 33,982 Camaros, according to Autodata Corp. The Dodge Challenger is in third place, with 30,166 sold. The Mustang's sizzling start to the year can be attributed to its 50th-anniversary redesign and a new 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder that are attracting younger buyers, especially in Southern California.

The Mustang is an excellent product. As for the Camaro, the 2015 Camaro is suffering the same fate as the 2014 Mustang. The Camaro faithful know a new one is coming soon, so why buy the old one. Granted the new one looks too much like the old one to really stand out as new, but I digress.

33k and 30k are actually pretty good numbers for cars that are near the end of their model generation. Expect the 2016 Camaro to do quite a bit better than the 2015.

I will think the new Camaro will. However I'm not completely sure it will soar passed the Mustang in sales. The new Camaro is pretty just like the old one. However, it still looks similar and it is still very difficult to see out of. The Mustang also looks very good but it is also very easy to see out of. I do like their V6 engine though.
