Audi Racks Up 54th Consecutive Sales Increase With An 8.3% Jump In June Sales
Audi also achieved its best-ever June sales in the U.S., marking the 54th consecutive month-over-month sales record. The previous June record was set in 2014 with 16,867 Audi vehicles sold. Through the first half of 2015, Audi U.S. sales rose 11.0% to 93,615 vehicles from the year-earlier period.

“Audi is seeing stronger demand than ever before,” said Mark Del Rosso, Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Audi of America. “This is the result of the best lineup we’ve ever enjoyed across the board. And with the launch of the Summer of Audi Sales Event attracting even more premium car buyers to our showrooms, we expect to continue building greater momentum in the months ahead.”

The A3 model line achieved record sales in June with a 42.0% increase over June 2014 sales. The A6 and A8 models also performed well, with year-over-year increases of 11.0% and 10.6%, respectively.

June represented strong demand for Audi luxury SUVs, with a 24.1% increase in sales encompassing the Audi Q3, Q5 and Q7 models. The Q5 posted a 6.1% increase from last year, while the Q7 posted a 14.1% increase from last June.

Audi Certified pre-owned vehicle sales also set a new June record, with a 14.4% gain on 4,176 CPO vehicles sold. CPO sales year-to-date have increased 9.3%.

Audi holds the longest running monthly record sales streak in the premium car market according to a competitive sales report from MotorIntelligence.com.

They are still 50+% lower in volume than BMW or Mercedes Benz in the North American market.

Chinese market...The exploding 2.0T and 3.0T engines and the self-grenading S-tronic transmissions will catch up to them sooner or later.

This shows how consistent Audi's success has been. For those saying the volume figures of Audi in the U.S. are still 50%+ below the volume of BMW and Mercedes-Benz, I say look at China and how Audi is dominating its two German rivals in that crucial and growing market.

Total vehicle sales in the US vs China after Q1 2015 (Q2 results are not available as yet):

China: 1,746,200
US: 1,537,800

China is a larger market but not by a milestone.

Now, German luxury car sales in China, after the same period, Q1 2015:

Audi: 133,316
BMW: 114,994
Mercedes: 78,183

So, sales figures show Audi is in the lead in China. Dominating? I think you could describe BMW dominating Audi in US, because of a 50% margin.

But Audi can't call figures like that, in China, dominating. I would actually call those figures worrying, considering the kind of head-start VW / Audi had going into a communist economy, and establishing themselves, as early as they did.

So, while some people might try to make it sound like China's car market is massively bigger than the US, it's still not that far behind.

And the US doesn'tcurrently have a lottery to get a car registration, as in China (Because of congestion).

China has also not even begun to face horrific pollution from all of the vehicles on its roads. Not to mentioned pressure from the West to lower its CO2 levels.

Lastly, take the sales figures and then think about how many car sales are logged. But by Chinese manufacturers, making cars so terrible, they cannot be sold in the US or Europe.

It's an important market, particularly for luxury car makers, no doubt. It's an unpredictable market too. Much like the country itself.

For further interest, European sales for Q1 2015 were: 1,650,700. Even closer to China than the US.

I think for some people on this site, it would be more convenient for Audi to be a Chinese brand, which I would welcome.

A lot of negative yr over yr numbers, the A3 and Q5 are making up for the mostly poor lineup performance.

How many of you guys work for BMW? I'll just commend Audi on its success. I'll pick up another to add to those numbers.

Audi makes great cars. Comparison tests prove that on a regular basis. The brand is only growing stronger in the US. It won't be long before it poses a serious challenge to BMW and Mercedes - as it does in Europe and China. The naysayers are only fooling themselves. It's one of VW's cash cows.
