Huh? Detroit Free Press Claims The 2016 Volvo XC90 Has Finally Beat The Germans And Redefined the Segment

2016 Volvo XC90AWD T6 is a triumph and an enormous surprise. The big new SUV makes Volvo a significant player in the luxury market and suggests the rest of the world's automakers should take Chinese automakers very seriously.

The XC90 is the first vehicle Volvo developed since Chinese automaker Geely bought the Swedish brand from Ford during the Great Recession. It introduces a new architecture and a new family of engines that will be the backbone of the all the brand's future vehicles.

Volvo's engineers were out of practice developing new vehicles, so it's widely suspected that Lotus and Porsche engineering consultants helped develop the architecture and engine.

While its quite a generic statement I will give Volvo props and say they most certainly stepped up their SUV game big time with this new model, and while I would not choose this over every German SUV, I would certainly take this over the new Q7

Being from Detroit, and my father was a journalist for the other paper up there, they do a pretty good job on their reporting of cars up there. They know that at any time the competition will blow by the other company. They say it like it is and don't sugar coat things. For Northerners that comes easy ;-))

Toyota and Lexus make the best SUV's the Germans make sedans and sports cars.....duh!!
