After Two Years Lexus Confirms LF-LC Will Make It To Production - Have You Already Moved On?
Lexus insiders have confirmed the Toyota owned brand has finalised a production version of its LF-LC concept coupe and is set to debut a new generation of the LS sedan

Voted the Best Concept Car at the 2013 Detroit motor show, the LF-LC concept sported an aggressive interpretation of the company’s signature ‘spindle grille,’ sweeping lines, huge front brake ducts and massive 20-inch wheels. Now, the production LC will be toned down somewhat but will have go to match its show — it’s expected to use an updated version of the V8 which stars in the current RC-F coupe.

Lexus insiders say the LC500’s V8 will develop around 350kW. Heading the coupe line-up (at least until an LC-F hottie surfaces) will be an LC500h version which will employ a V8 hybrid combination pumping out upwards of 405kW.

Production is slated to commence in November 2016. The coupe is expected in US showrooms in the first half of 2017 and then in Australia by the end of that year.

Always loved the first generation SC Coupe. Hope this new one is in the spirit of that model and not of its bloated successor.

Gotta hand it to Lexus, they refuse to give up on adding a sporty/performance oriented side to the brand. No matter how many times Benz beats on them via the SL, SLS, AMG GT, S Class Coupe, Lexus just tries and tries again.

They've got fight, I appreciate that.

If it comes looking just like that, all will be forgiven, but if it's dumbed down, it will be dead in the water. The SC is a trashed name. Given that it's a coupe, it should have an "R" name like RK. Evoking Lexus' "Oldsmobile" past for something this swanky is not a good move.

It has every silly design cliché in the Lexus playbook. Yet this is the first application of the "spindle grille" that actually looks good. My opinion . . .

Should be an excellent flagship car for Lexus. I think a few small careful tweaks to the front and rear will help it move more towards the Armani suit look and away from the third world dictator military uniform. Overall though a very sharp looking car.

Gorgeous is the word to describe this vehicle. Lexus is really impressing with the power numbers as well.
