TEASED! Mercedes-AMG Leaves Us GUESSING What All-New AMG Is On The Way
I have to admit, Mercedes-AMG totally fooled me on this one. Although I do try my best to not wildly speculate and provide you with the best possible insight, the three-point star nailed me this go around. That's because when it recently debuted a teaser clip NOT showing the latest AMG working its way around a track I figured it would make sense for the AMG GT Black Series to make an appearance.

I mean, we've seen TONS of spy shots of it, right? The timing is right for a Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA) debut.

Turns out I whiffed. That's mostly because the company just released a batch of teaser pics of what appears to be a follow up to the already crazy Mercedes-AMG C63 S.

While we cannot be sure exactly what AMG has in store, we're thinking it's one of two things. The angles and pictures show just enough to leave this up in the air.

It's either 1) the C63 Coupe, or 2) the C63 Black Series in sedan form.

Considering the standard coupe hasn't appeared yet, I am more inclined to think its the Black Series. Check out those bulging fenders and how short the front door is — you can see the handle in one shot.

Black Series are introduced half way through the model cycle when the facelifted/refreshed models are launched as a final bow to that generation

C63 AMG Coupe, you can tell by the elongated passenger door in the shot showing the race car driver inside

C63 coupe. The Black Series models all have aero winglets on the sides of the front bumpers, and those are missing here. Plus I doubt the Black Series would have Continental ContiSport Contact tires, in the past the tires were more track oriented.

My bet is on C63 Black Series Coupe...

Also Black Series Mercedes are the lightest and harshest road going cars of the bunch meaning that plush leather wrapped headrest you see in the picture will be tossed out and the seats will be replaced all together with single unit Racing seats, no adjustable head rest...
