Iranian Nuclear Deal Clears The Way For $2 A Gallon Gas - Was It Worth It?

Iranian Nuclear Deal Clears The Way For $2 A Gallon Gas - Was It Worth It?
If approved, the historic nuclear deal with Iran could be a boon for U.S. consumers and a bust for environmentalists.

The deal, which would place strict limitations on Iran's nuclear program in exchange for relief from economic sanctions, must now get the green light from U.S. Congress. But as Iran, the country with the world's fourth-largest oil reserves and second-biggest gas fields, revs up its output, analysts expect the cheap prices that defined 2015 to extend "well into 2016."

"This is good news for consumers, and bad news for people trying to promote non-fossil fuel alternatives or renewables," Tom Kloza, global head of energy analysis at the Oil Price Information Service, told The Huffington Post on Tuesday. "It means fossil fuels will remain cheap, and that inhibits some efforts to reduce carbon."

@009 - Nah, let's send in our troops to kick Iran's ass, nuke them, get the price up to $6 so our Saudi friends be happy, and then bail out GM and Ford and FCA since their truck line up can't sell and save them union jobs. You should run for office 009. I heard the Republicans don't have enough candidates. I know you're a part of this website but your political slant and word-twisting title gets old.

Thank God BYE BYE i8, i3, Prius, Leaf, and whomever else! I'm sorry, I care about the environment, I really do, but all of these soulless, non personality cars recently produced, made the enthusiast in me want to cry.

Carry on AMG GT, 911, Vette, C 63, M3/4, GTR, and so on

Repeat after me: "Fossil fuels are not bad." Because of Obama we will have cheap gas and Iran arming up to bring on the next Jewish Holocaust. Brilliant move Obama Bin Barack. I truly fear for the lives of the people of Israel.

The heart of the problem on this site is the administrators/owners. No other car site I go to allows political discussions. Very few hobbyists sites allow political discussions. Let's face it, why would you want to alienate a large amount of your potential web traffic. This site unilaterally supports anti-women, anti-gay, anti-immigrants, anti-humanity by "Foxing" the news and takes no action to stop it. Either the admins are complete idiots, or a large portion of their sponsorship comes from nut case right. Than again, since Autospies is strictly a news aggregator and not a auto-news creator,so maybe political articles is the only real way to get money support the site.

I'm surprised Lexus, Chrysler, etc. provide any sponsorship here at all. I now view them as a racist, misogynistic companies. Since most of us visit other auto sites each day, we should get the word out about what is happening at this sit.

Advance apology to the other viewers on this wite

Yes MDarringer - according to Netanyahu -
1992, then-parliamentarian Netanyahu advised the Israeli Knesset that Iran was “three to five years” away from reaching nuclear weapons capability;
1995 book, “Fighting Terrorism,” Netanyahu once again asserted that Iran would have a nuclear weapon in “three to five years,” apparently forgetting about the expiration of his old deadline;
1996 (spoken to Congress “the deadline for attaining this goal is getting extremely close.”);
2002, Netanyahu, testifying again in front of Congress claimed that Iraq’s nonexistent nuclear program was in fact so advanced that the country was now operating “centrifuges the size of washing machines.”;
2009 U.S. State Department diplomatic cable released by Wikileaks described then-prime ministerial candidate Netanyahu informing a visiting Congressional delegation that Iran was “probably one or two years away” from developing weapons capability. Another cable later the same year showed Netanyahu, now back in office as prime minister, telling a separate delegation of American politicians in Jerusalem that “Iran has the capability now to make one bomb,” adding that alternatively, “they could wait and make several bombs in a year or two.”;
2012 Netanyahu said in closed talks reported by Israeli media that Iran is just “a few months away” from attaining nuclear capabilities;

MEANWHILE, ISRAEL'S OWN INTELLIGENCE AGENCY MOSSAD WAS SAYING
2011, departing Mossad intelligence chief Meir Dagan said in his final intelligence summary that, contrary to Netanyahu’s repeated statements at the time, an Iranian nuclear weapon is in fact not imminent, and that any military action against the country could end up spurring the development of such a weapon.

2015, leaked intelligence cables reported by Al Jazeera revealed that at roughly the same time in 2012 that Netanyahu was brandishing his cartoon bomb and telling the United Nations that Iran was close to obtaining a nuclear weapon, Israeli intelligence had actually determined the country was “not performing the activity necessary to produce weapons.”

Why don't you stick with your auto industry "ownership" experience and sell your Hellcats.

Fun fact for the day...
Our buildings (e.g., heating and cooling) are responsible for more greenhouse gasses than cars and trucks, and yet the media and politicians draw our attentions to cars as the cause of our troubles, and the place where we need to make the greatest changes.

Actually - the largest emitter of Hydrocarbons into the atmosphere is from Evergreen Trees.
While global climate change is a fact - during out lifetimes - the problem is that this is too small a sample of time to actually show what will happen (Real climate changes over Millions of years). While I do not dispute that greenhouse gasses are part of the cause - we do not know what natural forces may also be involved nor do we know HOW the earth itself will react to these changes. Still - we have made great strides in reducing the problem coming from our use of fossil fuels.
And - with new technology - our supplies of these fuels are now no longer in soon jeopardy

There is no 'mutually assured destruction' here — Iran will be wiped off the earth if they ever use a nuclear weapon on somebody.

Is this what the people of Iran really want? What is WRONG with them? Freaking lunatics.

These people live in dirt houses with dirt floors and raise their own goats and they think they have what it takes to prevent their lunatic rulers from misusing weapons? These people are nuts. I don't know what's in the KORAN but it sure makes them crazy.

Not sure if the negotiators are stupid or they work for Bildeberg, Illuminati, Masons or Jesuits Groups and they are giving time to Iran to build their arsenal and bring the dooms day to reduce the population to their goal (500 millions) after the 3rd world war...New World Order.... ??
