VIDEO: Are THESE The Top 5 BEST Sounding Cars? Can YOU Curate A BETTER List?

When it comes to high-end sports cars, there's no question that sound matters. Hell, for me, sound matters even in my daily driver. Everyone's different but I am willing to wager that if you're a gearhead, you'll likely want a great sound coming into the cabin.

Our friends across the pond at XCAR recently compiled a Top 5 list of the best sounding cars. Although after I saw the clip, I actually came away a bit disappointed. To me, I know I could name several other vehicles that really deserve to be on the list.

Here are the five that XCAR picked:

5) Audi R8 V8
4) Ferrari 458
3) Bugatti Veyron
2) Jaguar F-Type R
1) Aston Martin V12 Vantage S

I cannot agree with any such list that does not include AMG's wonderful 6.2 natural aspirated V8

Other delicious sounding cars

TVR Sagaris Speed 6...or any Speed 6 really / the sound is violently mechanical and with precious little sound deadening, you can almost hear every mechanism in the car doing something

VW VR6 / a friend has a Corrado VR6 and the sound of it is like no other. It begins with a deep rumble and builds to a shriek.

Then if you talk CobraJets, old Hemis, and 427s...

Not sure that my Z51 with the performance exhaust really sounds any worse than the Jag F-Type R. The Z06 sounds pretty great as well.

Then there are the Lambos that sound pretty crazy. And the Paganis... I don't know, all of these cars sound great.

At least they didn't have some total head scratcher there.

E9x BMW M3 4.0L V8 revving to over 8K may not be at the top of this list, but comes pretty close for a fraction of the money.
