SPIED: FIRST Pics Of The All-New Lexus LC Coupe Snapped While It's Testing In SoCal — The LF-LC Becomes REAL!
This isn't something that happens every day.

While a friend of AutoSpies, Matt Farah, was cruising SoCal's twisties in "the canyons," he ran across a group of testers piloting a highly camouflaged vehicle. According to Farah and his Instagram posts that can be found @TheSmokingTire, the test car was in a convoy featuring a Porsche 911, BMW 650i and Lexus LS.

When I first saw the photographs earlier today, I didn't know what to make of it at first. Its design was a mix of Lexus, Maserati, BMW and Alfa Romeo. But, the first thought that popped into my head — especially when considering the convoy featuring an LS of all things — was it had to be the LF-LC in production form. Turns out that's what it is after further examination.

The biggest giveaways are as follows: the taillights, the subtle lip spoiler, exhaust and side view mirrors. As of now these are the FIRST spy shots of the production variant of this car. Compare with Agent 001's stunning shots of the LF-LC concept vehicle as it appeared at various auto shows over the years.

When it finally gets to market it will wear the name of that ugly turd of a convertible that should best be forgotten and most likely wear 4 year old styling.

You have to wonder WHY they included COW CATCHER grills on the Lexus models - how many people use their cars for that purpose? Of course - they would not want to use their better looking Pontiac Aztek to do so.

What is with the droopy lines trailing down from the head and tail lights? Such trite, sophomoric design details! Lexus (Toyota) designers need to calm down and keep things simple—unless their ultimate goal is to make their cars look downright silly. Which they do.
